It's cheap and fun to shoot, so the bottom dwellers see an opportunity to make a quick buck and snatch it up.
7am at most Walmart s you can sporadically get some. Good luck

the best time i have found for walmart ammo availability is around 9 or 10 in the morning on a tuesday or some time during the week

It's out there if you look hard enough. Walmart, Ace Hardware, flea markets, etc. But for defense? I don't know about that. PM me if you can't find any. I'll give you a box of 50. Just pay it forward some day.
