Thinking about what? Well, about what is the most practical/tactical approach when it comes to a ccw. 26.23 is the weight in ounces of 5+1 45acp rounds in an xds singlestack pistol. 26.76 is the weight of 9+1 .40s&w rounds in a glock 27 doublestack. The weight difference is barely there but the round count difference is there for sure. Almost double (add another round If u go g26) but the package is very close in size. The shield Is another example (actually taller than baby glock). On top of this when it comes to reloads the xds at best is 7 rounds (8 for shield) Glock 27 is 15rnds (or more). What I am realizing (PERSONALLY) is very little difference in carrying an xds/shield over a glock 27/26 (or other subcompact of same size) as far as concealment goes, but a BIG difference in ammo ready to be flung downrange. I can put a glock 27 in the same cargo pocket as an xds/shield and IWB I notice size comparison of it even less. So all this to say...does anyone else feel there is not enough difference in carrying a doublestack over a single stack to not lose the ammo capacity? Single stacks like xds/shield are sweet shooters but I am thinking for something that is meant to protect me and loved ones...Go with the extra ammo capacity for something so close in size to the less capacity of a singlestack. When I carry the various pistols mentioned, they feel about the same. Thoughts?

Personally I would go with more rounds. We can all sit and talk about being able to make that first shot count, but I feel comfortable having those few extra rounds just in case. Given the slight weight difference, why would anyone want to sacrifice a couple of rounds over ounces? Can't sling ounce at someone and make it hurt, but all of this is just my opinion.

True, we often hear that its only a few rounds fired off in defensive situation, and although perhaps true. I dont wanna carry and only plan to expect the least amount of threat. Especially the way things are these days...

You mean with violent crime at an all time low in the last 20 years...thanks in part to expanded CCW laws over most of the country?
