Glad to see the Wolvie sneaking around here finally. Strokin99 and I were at it's first "coming out" party last year about this time.
The idea of the Wolverine is to give the reloader a round that uses the 5.56 case with ballistic advantages over both the 5.56 and 300 BO while utilizing the standard 5.56 bolt and mags. The velocities with 100-110gr bullets are really impressive and nip the heels of most factory 6.8SPC loads. Plenty of great info at 68forums.
I believe there are two companies making factory loaded ammo for it now. I had plans to build one in a pistol configuration, but I got more into competitive shooting. It'll have to stay on the back burner for a while.
Oh yeah. Named after the small but scrappy band of insurgents in Red Dawn. The original "brat pack" version lol
The round has a kick ass name.
