.308 win 500rds $149.

Someone brought that ammo to try my Scar 17 once, about 15rd’s in, one of the rims got ripped off the case and the case got stuck in the chamber.

The guy about **** his pants when the blast came out of the side of the weapon instead of the front. Kudos to Tula though, the round still hit POA and didn’t get stuck as a squib.

Case extractor didn’t get it out, but tapping a T50 torx bit into it and then turning the case freed it up.

Needless to say, never again with that ammo.
Maybe a bad batch?

Have fired over 1k rounds of this ammo in my SCAR17 without issue.

I have no idea on the validity of this:

I read online if you shoot brass and steel case in the same gun, same range time, this can happen.
They made it sound like the brass transfers heat to the chamber and heats it up hotter than the steel case coating stands up to and then it will stick.

Sounds far fetched to me but I’m no scientist.

There’s many many threads of the scar 17 ripping the rim off of steel cased tulammo on other forums.

I’m not trying to discredit you. It’s extremely random since there are so many variables to take into account.

First time I hear of that theory. I’ve done that before with 556 without issue, but never on my SCAR.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Tula ammo did that to the SCAR though since QC isn’t the greatest (if it even exists at their factory)

No idea. When I get back to the US I’ll post up the pics I have on my desktop of the case that got stuck.

I'd actually heard it somewhat differently.

Mainly that steel cases expand less than brass, and don;t seal as well. This means that more gas gets by and fouls the chamber. If you follow up steel rounds with softer brass cases, they expand farther and can be harder to extract because they embed on the fouling on the chamber left by the steel.

This is a great price on cheap 'blasting' ammo though. I wouldn't use steel case anything in a high-end gun, but an AK or a HK type gun will chew through anything and this stuff won;t give it problems.

So my package of 500 rds arrived yesterday. Super quick for free shipping with a weight of 29lbs. I fired approximately 80 rds and had 2 out of the 80 not go off. I saved them till the end and reloaded them in the magazine and they fired the second time. Im guessing the primer wasnt fully seated on them. Other than that so far so good. Also im extremely happy with the ptr 91. It ran better than i anticipated. Cant wait till the weekend when i got more daylight to blast a few more.
