Anyone running a Surefire OBC set up?

Apparently it's THE BCG to run when shooting suppressed.

I don't mind spending the $$ but I usually run just standard M16 BCG from DD, Colt, or SOLGW.

At twice the price, is it worth it and why?

No experience with the Surefire.
I have been using a Bootleg adjustable bcg and have one of the Geissele nano coated I haven't gotten around to yet.

I really like the Bootleg for .300 blk for bouncing back and forth between supersonic and sub sonic rounds but my favorite set up for that now is the Riflespeed adjustable gas block.
Matter of fact it is probably my all time favorite for any AR DI style rifle.

For $400 Surefire the price isn't great but your getting a system...not just the bcg ....but that doesn't factor in the gas block and gas port size on the rifle.
So somebody some where will have problems...and may just need a lighter or heavier buffer.

Back when I built uppers for a side gig they were built and tuned to run on a stock colt carbine/rifle spring and buffer.

Your expectations will be high at that price point.
Your expectation of a standard bolt will be.."Hey...it works"

I like trying new things and am happy with my nickel boron and Np3 bcgs and even my old school parkerized bcgs...they just take longer to clean.

I've built my fair share of uppers.

I'm just trying to work up a suppressed 5.56 AR when I came across this BCG on another forum and that census is love it, but they also seem to love spending money on extras so it's hard to know what works and what is "drip" on there.

Hmm..BCM Kino.
triangle handguards.
Retro or Canadian upper
Maybe flattop carry handle.
Xm177 flash hider when the suppressors not on.
Bootleg bcg or KaK sandcutter.
PSA retro style brace.

Oh..and Rodesian camo paint job.

Well...there are definitely Surefire fanboys...but SF does make some really nice fleshlight's.

Lol.

Check out Riflespeed adjustable gas block.
Trust me.
A guy just paid me like $1k more than I had in my personal gun for just the upper after he shot it.
Guy was in a tactical response unit and armorer.
He spent an hour shooting my rig with different ammo types after he approached me.
He said it was the smoothest 11.5" AR he had ever shot and loved the ability to increase/decrease the gas so you were not locked into a certain suppressor/ammo choice.

When I explained he can get different plunger sizes for the gas block he was sold.
