Ok, so this may be a stupid question, please forgive my ignorance. I picked up a SA XDs last night for my new EDC. But what is the difference in .45 ACP and .45 Auto. Is there any? I had some .45 Auto laying around, and loaded up a mag and stuck it in there, had the nose of the bullet got stuck on the feed ramp. I cleared the weapon and removed one round from the mag, and tried again, and it worked fine. I just dont want it exploding in my hands because I didnt use the correct ammo. (By the way I'm not a dumbass, its an honest question. I have only ever owned .40 S+W, so this is new to me) Thanks for any input

You are doing what every responsible gun owner should do. :thumb: That is either research or ask for help. Irresponsible people assume. That is why a lot of "unloaded" guns injure people.

I know everyone else already answered your question, but I will add that 45 auto and 45 acp are the same thing.
