Looking to trade my ballistic knife listed for a crate of either 7n6 or the newer Russian made Barnaul mil-spec or I can trade surplus 7.62x54r ammo. Can do cash but would rather trade.
Thanks

UPDATE: Now open to crates of newer Barnaul Mil-spec

The '7N6' ammo(steel core) I found is showing "Banned from further importation." It's .26+/rd. shipped. The 'Red Army(lead core) can be had for .22/rd. shipped. Is there a reason you would prefer the former?

I really like the ballistics of the round and usually you can find crates (2160 rds) for around $450 which comes out to around .20 a round.

I don't know the reason for the "banned from further import reason"(maybe sanctions levied on the Ruskies), but you may want to get some, before the supply dries up, and/or prices go up.

I thought 7N6 has been banned from import for a few years now. However, it appears there are other brands of 5.45 that have picked up the slack. Interested in history on this if anyone knows...

7n6 was banned from import back in 2014 because it was deemed by the atf to be armor piercing.

And companies like hornady have began producing the caliber. The 7n6 is just a better round and cheaper if bought in bulk
