6.5 Grendel Info Sought

Recently built 2, 6.5 Grendel AR's. One 16 inch barrel w/ 1:8 twist and the other 20" w/1:9 twist. My question which grain ammo is best for each? 120 gr. or 123 gr.

I like Hornady ELD Black it replaces the A-Max. Easy to find and goes on sale often

I used 123 nosler and 129 Hornady in my 18 1/2"

I second the 65grendel advice... that is where I got most info... have shot mainly Hornady black eld 123g but have handloaded 120 and 123 with very close results... would not say I have found the perfect load yet because I just got distracted

I’m contemplating getting into the 6.5 game but can’t figure out if Grendel or creedmor is the way to go. I’ll do some reading on these links as well. I’m looking into accuracy, cost effective ammo, & the different rifles/platforms available.

The 123s offer a slightly higher BC over the 120s, for virtuality same speed. I've used Hornady and Sierra 123s in my 6.5 and get low 2500s out of a 20" Proof barrel.
