If you are new to gongs, be sure to use a grade 8 bolt to hang it with a slight tilt downward. A hardware grade bolt will essentially liquefy with the first direct hit. I have found that used conveyor belt is the best material to hang it with as it will absorb 100's of hits and still not drop the gong.

I use these little elephant hangers that go on T-posts.
