with the optic, I'd only go to 700. It's a good quality rifle and if I was offered it for $700 I'd take it. anymore than that, you can buy a new rifle and mod it the way you want.

Yep. Might do $750 depending "extras" (ammo, case).
 
Looks like a home build as the receivers are not even close to matching in color???? If it is a factory gun, then maybe $700 as-is, if home built, I would just pass. Too many deals to build what you want for the same $$. Plus you never know how it was assembled.

True it's a buyers market when it comes to ARs right now. Only one bid on a whole page of Colts on GB.
A good friend just picked up One of the Colt Socoms new for under $899 + shipping and transfer
From what I have seen the prices on the S&W M&P 15s new ones anyway, really haven't dropped off a cliff like some of the others and have held their value well. Comparatively even better than the Colts.
Not a huge fanboy of any particular brand but The S&W M&P15 is a darn good rifle and more than capable of meeting the average AR owners needs.
