Acorns, Hickory Nuts & Hard Hats

They are falling heavy and loud in Northeast Bartow
more than last year
and a Hickory Nut will but a knot on your head, they're as big as a Cue Ball
there are so many Acorns & Nuts that if your walking up a ridge and slip you will go all the way to the bottom like if you were on Ball Bearings

Our neighbor just put up one of those steel carports. A nice long one for his boat and a couple trailers. His spot of choice—well, a nice, full grown, extremely tall oak tree.

We aren’t that close to his house but every time an acorn falls from 30 feet up and hits that tin, it sounds like a little gun shot. I don’t think he realized that when he put up the carport 😂

I noticed last Sunday we have lots of black walnuts on the ground! TOoooo
