M4E1 has a built in trigger guard & threaded bolt catch roll pin & takedown pin detent recess, also it's milled to accept shirt throw safety selector.
Other than that & looks they are the same.
M4E1 more angular, billet look. Built in trigger guard. There’s also a set screw mechanism for the bolt catch rather than a roll pin.
