If you're going to be using an hvlp set up to spray I would definitely try to find a paint booth to do it in. Look up the TDS (Technical Data Sheet) for whatever product it is you're spraying. The TDS will give you all the info you need like: mix ratios, flash times, potlife, topcoat windows, gun setup, pressure requirements. Make sure that whatever hardener/activator and or reducers you use are matched to the temp at which you will be spraying. This makes a huge difference in how the product lays out. Definitely get a full face respirator that covers your eyes. The overspray from those angles will get blown right back in your face. You're going to want to use disposable cups to spray out of as they can be used upside down. If have any questions just let me know. 20+ yrs of painting cars

I am an aircraft mechanic and discussing this with the OP who is a medical professional. We both have projects that will need paint. It is far easier to invent a paint booth and prep everything for someone like yourself that has the decades of experience to come in and shoot the paint, than to go from zero to hero when it comes to shooting paint.

I would love to pay someone like yourself for a day of shooting paint. I’m pretty sure the OP is in exactly the same boat.

I stopped doing side work when I took a job teaching Auto Collision Repair at a technical college. It's a work/life balance thing. But, I now have the pleasure of training the next generation of painters at the school. I've had multiple students win gold in Refinishing at the Ga Skills USA competition. These guys are young, hungry and skilled. I'm pretty sure they would jump all over a good side gig.
