I almost moved this to 'stupid stuff', but I think this was supposed to be a serious thread. 
Oh well, don't have time anyway. Need to go throw away my SKS. (And the reloading dies, components, etc...)

The story I read said that the govt was not issuing any NEW ammo import licenses. Nothing has changed on current ammo.
The Biden Administration announced on Friday it would stop approving new permits to import Russian-made ammo and guns. Once the sanctions go into effect, they will stay in place for up to a year.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation, a second industry group, did not comment on the move but told its members on Friday it was looking into the details of the new sanctions. It said new ammo importation permits would be denied. However, those that have already been issued will remain intact until they expire, something that could take up to two years.

Correct, and currently approved form 6's for import are good for two years
One could argue 7.62x39 is the most produced center fire rifle cartridge ever. Half a century later .300 blackout is designed and is only marginally better in certain situations.

I would throw it away based solely on the fact it’s an SKS.
