This is a perfect example of Just because you have a permit, it doesn't mean you know what you are doing.......They walk among us every day, people that get a permit, but don't have a clue on how to be safe with a firearm. It is their right to carry a gun, but it is my right to not be in danger from the ignorant. The mouth breathers of the world don't have a clue that you don't unholster your gun in Walmart to show someone. Only another mouth breather would ask to see your gun in Walmart. People wonder why Gun Stores ask that you check your weapon/ no loaded guns........it is because they can't spot an idiot just because of how he or she may look. I don't think this story is ridiculous at all, I think it is an example of ignorant people making the intelligent/ safe gun toters look bad to the public.

He pulled it out of his holster in the sporting goods section and when he tried to clear the gun it went off

Police made Garcia unload his weapon and was given back his gun.

atleast he got it right the second time, lol

THIS is why there are "No loaded firearms allowed" signs on gun store doors.
Firearms are supposed to stay in the holster unless you are on the range, actually using them or cleaning them in a safe environment.
They are not for show and tell in a large crowd.

This guy was a real idiot to take his weapon out in a public place like that. Luckily he did not hit and wound someone. THat would have really got the anti-gun folks up in arms and attacking for more restrictive carry laws.
