All Cobb Co. Schools Closed.

Cobb County is full of liberals and RiNO's.
This County went for Hillary in 2016 and for a black woman-- a retired flight attendant turned anti- gun crusader-- for Congress.
Even when I was a HS student in Cobb some 35 years ago, they taught the liberal version of the 2A in history / social studies. It's a right given to the government to maintain military and police forces to control the people-- it's not a right of the people.

I would bet that other districts follow Cobb, for the very reasons you listed.
Fulton announced the same shortly after Cobb. I have contacts in Paulding and Cherokee...they seem to be holding firm. Cobb County is far more left than people want to admit.

Carroll Co pushed start date back by 1 week, and giving an option of online school, but starting classes in person otherwise.

So far, Bibb Co has pushed back the start date to after Labor Day, and still have in person classes and those who wish to do remote learning can do so. But my Brother-in-law, who is an accountant the board of ed, said he heard they've been meeting to discuss the possibility of only part time in person classes with the remainder of the week remote learning. Bibb is pretty liberal too, so I won't be surprised to see in person classes cancelled.

No recourse but to fire off emails to all the school board officials. Starting with the SI and his long list of people in his organization. The Hierarchy published online looks like a fortune 500 company management tree. Then I'm going to write my senator, congressman and Governor to rant. Nothing will happen, I know this but it's my right and I choose to exercise it. Lastly every last dollar, dime and cent I would have gave to fundraisers, PTA, whatever else they ask money for will go to the campaign of whatever person is running against a school board incumbent. It's literally the only thing I can do. Stealing money in property tax for schools and buses and maintenance personell that aren't being used. It's literally theft.

I WONDER IF...

One day the schools will announce that they consider the COVID virus to be under control and no longer a legitimate reason to keep kids out of school,

BUT the School systems, the Board of Education, will announce (upon urging from liberal activist groups like million moms demand action) that the school shall not reopen so long as the risk of "gun violence" is at unacceptably high levels.

The leftist media will promote this idea --that all of America must stay in lockdown with parent-assisted internet learning as the only educational option...

...until such time as we have a lot more gun control, and the CDC gives the all clear to resume in-person education upon a finding that the risk of gun violence is sufficiently abated.

Parents, already pulling their hair out in frustration and having the kids at home for all this extra time will immediately jump on the gun control bandwagon to say:
"ban guns, repeal the Second Amendment,
do whatever it takes to get our school safe enough
for our kids to go back!"

Because one of the parents will have to stay home with the kid.
Or single parent will have to quite their job to stay home.

Years and years of using the school system as a baby sitter and feeding station are over. There will be tons of new stay at home moms and our excessive consumer economy is going to crash. It will hurt at first but The Lord uses the wicked just as much as the righteous.
