its not easy at all but im sure he was a great dog it's been a few years since i had to put mine down and I still miss my dog

got 2 rescue pit bulls at home. One of them , I rescued from a meth dealer , so I'm pretty sure That her 2 years with me are way better then her life as a "bait" dog. Even if she died tomorrow. And something I read on another one of these threads... They are only part of our life, but we are their whole existence. Or something like that....

My thoughts are with you . I am facing this very soon myself. I have a 14 yr old Australian shepherd that is in bad shape . I dread the day.

We may think and like to say that we rescue them, but that doesn't begin to tell the story. They rescue us, too, far more than many can admit or even recognize. Sorry for your loss. Be ready to let the next one rescue you when the time comes. I just lost a GSD right after Christmas. Still got a nearly 14 year old GSD, and there will be tough times before too long. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
Prayers brother. Ours is buried out back. Kids really took it hard. Our GS looked a lot like yours.
