A normal day, stopped into the local pawnshop to handle what they had in inventory. Well i was very lucky as they had a ton of cool used guns. Some mausers, older highpoint carbines, some cheap 10/22's and exactly what i needed. A cheap remington model 11 in 12ga. The gun being of 1900's vintage was a textured brown patina but seemingly mechanically sound.

Well, the turning cam on the lock bolt was sheared off. With old guns you're often SOL with spares or replacements. The parts will always need fitting and assesment of some sort. Luckily I found a 1940's locking bolt that fit and was able to fit it into the barrell extension. I also replaced all the old springs with new springs.

Anyways, im glad i looked under the hood before the other cam sheared and the gun had a kaboom

Bought Remington 512 and 521 T last week and the 512 wouldn’t eject the empty hull. Looked on numerich and they had one. Checked to be sure screw was tight in ejecter and it was loose and ejecter had got bent. Straightened the ejector and it works perfectly. Previous owner had painted stock with a redish brown paint. Sanded the stock down and refinished stock and cleaned and oiled the gun, looks good and functions great.

You probably already know this, but Numrich has a lot of parts for these old guns. They have a mix of used and new parts. They have been a life saver on a few old Auto 5's I play around with.

i looked at their site but was worried about buying one from the wrong generation. The lucky thing is the model 11 has been made for ever

Going a step farther . Always inspect new guns also.
I purchased a brand new Sig p365 Fuse from a shop in our area. Went straight to my range to try.
Fired about 20-30 rds and it started malfunctioning. The rear receiver pin had fell out.
This was friday and the shop i purchased to from said sorry bring it on monday and we will send it to sig.
between the gun and ammo i had just spent over $1200 and thats the best they could do for me?
I said i just want my money back and the reply was " the gun left our store sorry"
Anyway I call Sig on monday and they were super helpful. sent me the part right away and its back in action.
Two lessons i learned.
1: check the gun well . I should have cleaned and lubed it before firing and i would have found the pin not properly seated. (my bad)
2: Never purchase a gun from that store again.
