About 5 weeks ago I bought a can of Lake City XM855CL1 5.56 SS109 from Cheaper Than Dirt. I paid $139.97 for 420 rounds. Just got a new magazine from them and now the identical ammo is $199.79. That's about a 30% increase. Ouch !!!

and ammo isnt the only thing. I was looking at a base model AR for around $590 NIB retail prices here locally, now the same store, has the same AR (2 months later) for $739.
I made some idiot purchases in 2008... I ain't buying it this time. Demand may be up somewhat, but I refuse to believe that the firearms / ammo industry isn't engaging in some price gouging.
