So, I have listed my FN FNS on this site about a week ago. Got some tire kickers, some nice trade offers, but nothing that really grabbed me. So, on a whim I decided I would also list it on armslist.com. If still nothing, then GunBroker and GunsAmerica. I had it listed for $525 on here, but listed it on ArmsList for $550, as it is a national site, and had every intention of shipping it if it sold.

It was on there for like 2 days, then I get an email. The guy stated that he was close to me (Buford) and wanted to know if he could FTF. I said sure. This was Friday afternoon. We set up a meet for Saturday AM. He sens me a email @ 0630 that said he was sorry. He had to deposit his check and it had to clear his bank in order to get the funds. "No problem, stuff happens" I said, let's do it Sunday afternoon. He agreed.

Sunday, around noon, I get another email. Check still hasn't cleared, but he said he is still very interested and wants to get it. Monday afternoon he says. I agree.

Monday @ 0345 I get an email. Still no funds. At this point I think this guy is jerking me around. I told him, "Tuesday @ noon. I will not set another time to meet" He agrees.

Today @ 1100. I call him. He said he's ready to meet. I get ready, and head that way, fully expecting him to be a no show. I get there and sure enough there is his car! HE SHOWED UP!!!! We meet, and he apologizes for the multiple postponements. I completely understand, banks suck, and you deal with it.

Now for the coup de gras. he hands me the envelope with the cash. Wile he inspects the weapon, holster, etc.; I count. Asking price is for 550, but I count 600... I tell him that I think he might have left too much in the envelope, to wich he replies. "No, thats for the delays, and misunderstandings." "Not a lot of people would have waited and kept in contact like you did." I was floored.

We chatted a while and shook hands. He said he was new to the area, and was looking to buy his first gun. He was 23. I told him about the ODT, and said that with his ethics, he would be more than welcome here. He said he would check us out. Hopefully, I get to do a deal w/ him again.

I know it's not an ODT story, but thought it warranted a mention among my peers.

Very believable story, if he didn't get his check in by the deadline on Friday it wouldn't clear his bank til Monday night.

If he does get on here, be nice to know his screen name. Obviously from my feedback I haven't done much trading, but its nice to know the good ones on here.

Great story BTW.
