Another great reason to carry

Pardon if already mentioned, but in today's world, if someone wants a fighting dog, don't they usually get a pit? So, if we anthropomorphize, shouldn't we resist profiling for the betterment of society. 15 years ago I was living in Jasper county. Cops said they were pits, but they were bigger and ugly as hell. They broke out the window of my neighbors house to get out, got one of my animals and went after my family who barely made it into the house.

I envy the nerve of the Big game hunters in Africa. It is scary as hell, and even harder to shoot something that is charging you with the intent of killing you.

That's B.S.! I own a pit bull and have owned several and they are not mean! If you guys would actually read about them rather then judge them! They are very playful animals and some of te sweetest dogs you can get, they are basically clowns! Learn your facts before you blame them!!!

Fair enough. But it is a proven fact that pit bulls have a very high prey drive (even the loved ones with great homes). My wife is a vet and has participated in studies verifying the same. I've got $20 that says when more details emerge the word pit will be in there. I'm not trying to bash anyone or their dog on here, but facts are facts. Pit Bulls have vilified themselves..

Fact: Pit bulls are not even in the 10 ten dogs to turn on their owners nor are they even in the top 3 most vicious dogs. Yes, they are very muscular and have a very strong jaw but their loyal and very protective of family. They have received a very bad view from the public due to all the POS's that own them to fight or as a status symbol.

Pits are powerful, but so are many other breeds. Any powerful dog that seriously attacks is dangerous. Pits simply are no more disposed to human aggression naturally than any other breed.

Particularly coming from the "insert "guns" for "dogs"" side of the argument.

Not really. The comparison is valid in that judging pits as a breed because of what some of their human owners want from them is like saying guns are dangerous when all of the info you look at is based on gang banger violence.

How valid is the argument that most of the gun violence in the US is criminal on criminal, thus gun ownership by law abiding people should not be limited? There is a comparison between anti pit and anti gun people.
