Tough choice. Have ak and ar, both piston, same caliber......... AK 
AR10. You guys have fun with the spray and pray at anything past 200 yards with your AKs. I'll just use one round and kill it out past 600. And all that extra ammo that you can carry with an AR15 does you no good when you have to shoot someone two or three times with it to make sure they're dead. I'll put one 7.62 NATO center mass and not worry about them anymore. The 7.62 NATO also has a strong tendency to turn a lot of "cover" into concealment. LOL. I seriously think our troops should be given the AR10 as the U.S. primary battle rifle. Stoner's first idea was his best.

I'm sure you will find a lot more war fighters that will b**ch about it not stopping the bad guy effectively. I don't want a round that will do random s**t when it hits the target. I want one that will consistently blow nice big holes right through the middle of it.
^^^This I shoot hogs regular with 223 75 gr ,and with 150 gr 308s ,and the 223 knocks them down ,but the 308 just flat tears **** up.
Please go to a VFW and talk to men who have been shot with 8mm mauser and 7.62x54R. Keyword, talk to them. As in they're still alive.
Shot placement is more important than caliber. That being said I'd still have multiple fals in 308 if I could afford to stay proficient aka feed them...
I now have ar platforms for go to weapons. The rounds and platform has been perfected. I have no ammo sensitivity problems and can hit targets out to 600 meters easily with my dmr and 75gr hps.
The older I get the less weight I can carry so naturally it makes more sense to have the ar now for me.
