You do what you gotta do. One time I was pistol gripping an old Smith shotgun stock and I accidentally cut it too far as in past the shoulder where the bolt head and washer sit. So I took a cheap deep well socket that fit nice and snug in the hole and ground all the finish off. Then I Gorilla Glued it in the hole. Problem solved.
