any 7.7 Jap experts

Have my grandfather's bring back and wanted to clean and shoot it. Any dos and don't. Where can I find ammo. Any help is appreciated.

Not an "expert" but ive had mine since age 14, ive purcjased ammo at cabelas, and sportsmanguide. Er As for shooting as always have competent gunsmith give it a good look to be safe. Mine shoots fine but accuracy is mediocre at best, bore is in poor condition. Strictly a sentimental gun for me uncle passed on to me he was an lading craft driver in navy during ww2 in pacific he gave me this with bayonet and some other cool relics.

i make my own 7.7 from 30 06 cases, and 270 cases as well.... ammo is available with a little work...
