Assuming 7.5 rise with 14 steps and putting in a 7.5" rise with 3.5" run - taking out the spiral and installing a set of access stairs 4400.00 if you are in metro Atlanta. If you are serious I would get you and your wife to try out a set made like that. I have built several within a block of my house that you would try before you buy. Looks like with L shape access hole you have a way to reuse the handrail and 2 footprint options which is good.

Lifts or elevators are cool and ther are are good viable lift options from 12000 to 50000 but they are only viable if you have stairs as an alternate emergency egress and adding a set 14 step stairs and landing outside would add about 3500 to that

I have spiral stairs in my house
Wasn’t a concern when we boght it 25 years ago .
But should have been because the owner was selling it because he had issues with his leg and couldn’t get up and down em
I’m now 60 .
I don’t have any problem with it so far
You get used to em
You just have to twist a little and learn how to carry stuff
Going up You carry the laundry bag behind you and going down you carry it in front of you
Be easy to install a elevator though
But won’t be cheap unless you can do it yourself
I’ve seen elevators for free or close to it .
My house has spiral stairs because their simply isn’t room for normal stairs inside
It has some stairs outside to the deck that’s on the second floor but they would not pass code inspection now
In 1969 they did .
But they are a little too steep and a little too skinny
We have some furniture on the second floor that wouldn’t fit the outside stairs so I hired a weightlifting team from a college to hoist it up outside the railing with ropes .
