Any ebay experts on here?

Yeah if there is something I want wait untill the last possible minute to put my bid in so the price wont get driven up. I have bid with less than ten seconds left so another bidder wont have time to react.

Set up your own sniper from one of the several sites available. Figure the most you are willing to pay (with shipping) and cross your fingers. Don't bring a knife to a gunfight. They don't play fair why should you?

Unfortunately his "buy it now" price is way too high and I assume that's his current asking price. I couldn't even figure out how to message him though. Auction ends tomorrow.

Look for "ask seller question". If nothing else, tell him what you would be willing to pay for it. If it doesn't sell, he may send you a message and take your offer.

Don't bid at all, just add it to your watch list. Bidding just drives up the price. Be prepared to be on ebay 5 minutes before the auction ends. Watch the countdown timer and enter your max bid when there are only 15 seconds left. Entering your max bid now just encourages other bidders to out bid you and results in driving the price up, it's a pyschology thing. When entering your max bid with only 15 seconds left, your competition may not be online or if they are they will have to place several bids in just seconds to out bid you and in the process will run out of time.

Good luck.

Just bid your best offer, then hope the seller thinks it's enough if you are the top bidder. In my experience, if you are the top bidder, they don't have HAVE to follow through. They will take the neg feedback, and relist.

To be sure (this will really show how little I use it), if I put in my 'max bid' now, it doesn't actually up the price to that full amount correct? it only goes up by the required minimum increment as I'm outbid... right?
yes, it will only bid just enough to win the auction. Your max bid will automatically bid for you in small increments until you win highest bidder or your max bid will stop if you are outbid.

Correct, your max bid will only go up to the winning bid or until you are out bid. This gives you the option of set it and for get it bidding.

Thanks. So that's different from the sniping software how? The sniping software only makes one bid at the last moment?

If another bidder has a max bid against your max bid, all this will happen instantly. Let's say your bid is $20. and your max bid is $100. You are the high bidder because no one has bid higher. Another Bidder sets his max Bid at $105. As soon as the 105 bidder hits the button you are out bid and the 105 bid is the high bidder
