Reminds me of the book I read about The Allman Brothers Band. Very early on in the band's history going to Vietnam was a very real possibility. So " Foot Shooting Parties" were a real thing. But most of the time a 22lr firearm would be used. But when Gregg's number came up they had a big ass party and his brother Duane Allman got his hands on a 1911 in 45acp. It's been close to 20 years since I read the book but I'm pretty sure Gregg chickened out and if he did I do NOT blame him at all.
