Anyone else hunt squirrels hard on this site? Made atleast one hunt per weekend this season, went pretty well. Didn't get skunked once, ended up putting 143 in the dirt. Not the best year but if I can make that an average year I'd be happy. Since the pecan harvest it's been 1 to 3 a morning, before that it was 5 to 8. Really hate that the end is closing upon us, but Aug won't take long to get here. Hope ya'lls season has been as productive.

My Bulldog takes out 1 a week... She hates squirrels and cats, and birds.. well anything that ventures into her domain... I hate them too rats chew up my deck and we cant discharge a weapon. Nobody has said I cant airgun them...

Excellent! Found some folks tht might understand me. LOL!

Chief, what ya working on? There's a Glenfield Mod 60 in the classifieds that'd make good raw materal for a super squirrel gun. If my wallet wasn't recovering from a recent deer rifle purchase for my boy I'd probably be all over it for him. I'm thinking I might build myself a bolt gun this summer for long range work, keep my Mod 60 for general use. I'm in the fire service also, stay safe.

My 10/22 absolutely hates tree rats!
My only problem is time and the fact that my property and surrounding is 95% pines.

10/22 is my newest project, If I can get uncle sam squared up and get caught up with helping my 20 year old that is at GA Southern!! But I have a while till season reopens.

I've got 2 pecan growers that I help keep crop loss to a minimum for. Win/win situation, I get free places to hunt in some prime areas, they don't get their crop toted off and eaten. Read a study the average is 56lbs per squirrel per growing season, don't take many to end up with bare trees for the shaker. Been hunting these spots for 3 years now and the growers are saying that they're seeing a difference in the yeild, expecially on the edge trees. If ya'll have any growers in your area ya might want to stop by and talk with them, it ain't hard to convience them to give ya access if your only after the squirrels.
