Im headed down friday afternoon to stay until tuesday and do a little inshore fishing. Just wondering if anyone had been catching much? We will be after trout, reds, and/or flounder. If they arent cooperating we will declare war on the bonnet heads. Ill post a report from my phone, but havnt quite figured out posting pics from my phone yet.

I think they are doing pretty good, what are you going to try for the flounder. I got a idea that is a bull minnow on small split shot. Kills them in the gulf.

I fish the Brunswick area (Doboy Sound to Cumberland Sound) 2-4 days per week.... Been fishing here all my life (I'm now 65) and been guiding these same waters since 1964...

We are really having an off year thanks to the extremely cold winter.... Fish catches are off about 50% from what I was catching this time last year.... The fish also seem to be showing up about a month behind what was considered normal for the last several years...

My last trip was Tuesday of this week.... We caught 15 trout, 2 flounder, 2 redfish, and three triple tail.... We fished Christmas Creek and off Jekyll Beach.... Live shrimp, gulp baits, and the Salt Water Assassin (Electric Chicken, New Penny, Pinfish) on 1/8 oz jig heads (color not really important) will all produce bites....

I plan on going again in the morning and will be fishing the Doboy Sound and Wolf Island areas....

Live shrimp are scarce and hard to keep alive, plus they are expensive.....

I would love to paint you a rosy picture,,,,,,,,,, but it's just not there!!!!

I'm reasonably sure you will catch a few fish and regardless,,,, just getting out on the water sure beats working,,,, catching fish is just a bonus....

There are lots of redfish if you know how to target them..... The extremely cold winter didn't seem to affect them..... Large schools are to be found prowling the mud flats near low tide.... They can also be caught sight fishing for them up in the marsh grass on the high flood tides...

Good luck!!!
