Lots of wisdom in your post, I appreciate you taking the time to type all that out! Food for thought.I worked for a "Fortune 50" company almost 25 years before being laid off after a company buy-out…. had to pretty much "start over" with the next couple jobs, even though I was well experienced in my profession…. the past ten years I have worked as an independent contractor and enjoyed my job…. primarily because there is no "politics" AND no "drama" involved! When I show up, the company people are happy to see me, I do my job, go home and send an invoice….
One comment I would offer as it applies to making a job change because another job "seems better"…. "The grass may look greener on the other side of the fence…. but it STILL has to be mowed"…. meaning, many times a situation may appear "better"…. and we make the change only to discover many things are the same as before…. just with different people or surroundings….
There were a number of things I didn’t like with my long-time job, but I learned how to be satisfied where I was and focus on what I liked about working there….
Best to ya, my friend…. don’t let the other "crazies" get in your head and spoil the "fun" for ya!
