Take a old go-cart frame and put a 10 or 12 HP motor on it. I have wanted to do this for so long. Harbor freight has engines to buy and as soon as I find a decent, strong frame I am going to indulge my hankering to put together a torque monster to rip up the streets and terrify the townfolk with it. I have some back roads that are very rarely used so I have the perfect place to raise a little hell on. I would love to get my hands on one of those single seat jobs that have a roll cage built in with the big tires on back. The overall expense would be low. The pic below is the frame I'm looking for and the engine at harbor freight is a 15.8 horsepower engine with the horizontal shaft so it would be the perfect unit.
Did I forget to add " I have tools, I can fix it. ". 🤣

I think the investment will be worth it for all the room I've got to play around on it. I just don't know how 270 lb is going to affect the handling. 🤣🤣🤣

You should get 2 engines, 270/2 is very sporty!
I have always liked this idea!!!!
Yeah those 15.8 horsepower engines are only 499 a piece. Two sounds very very doable. I'm on the hunt right now for a frame. I'd like to get one for a front and rear suspension that way I don't get beat to death with those hard Mount frames.

Many years ago, knew a kid that put a 10 hp Mercury outboard motor power head on a go-cart. Had an old car heater plumbed in for a radiator. No clutch, direct drive, no starter. Had to push start it and hang on.
Thing like to have killed him when he wrapped it around a parking meter playing in a lot.

In high school a buddy of mine put a Kawasaki dirt bike engine on one. That thing was too fast and was scary when you got it up to a certain speed around the corners. But operating the clutch and switching gears and all that mess was just too involved to actually have fun cuz you had to constantly switch up and down and it was more hassle than it's worth. I just want to high horsepower machine I can mash the gas and mash the brake. That keeps it fun. Now I'm not opposed to a couple emgines on there but I still want to go with the simplicity of you know a Coleman type motor.
