We’re new to this area and the pack assigned to my kid’s school is apparently in the middle of some incredibly stupid pack drama. We want to change packs or get out and get our money back. Anybody here in the local leadership who can point me in the right direction?

You should be able to go to beascout.org and search by zip code. My suggestion is to visit a couple different Packs and see if your Scout "clicks" with the group. Every Pack or Troop will have a different vibe depending on the youth or the adults. Depending on your Scouts age the Units my have a wide range of activity levels. Please don't give up on Scouting, it's a great program. There are very few times in life were you can spend time with your children teaching them something that will impact both of your lives for the better. One thing I told a parent the other day (that had a 10 year old). Your child is going to be out of the house around 18 years of age, so you only have about 416 Saturdays to spend with them before they're an adult. Make the most of it by doing Scouts together.

Thanks.

I want to stay in it, my kid really enjoys it, but the parents are (typical for this county) trying to ruin a good thing.
