Anyone Been to Aruba?

Been and loved it. Windy which is nice because it keeps you cool even in the 90s. Sometimes the sand will blow on you when laying on the beach but who cares. They have a Taco Bell there which is great. Amstel Bright is an awesome beer served on the island. Half the island is a desert basically so we went exploring in a Jeep Wrangler. When I wasn’t driving I was enjoying beverages and crystal clear water.

We've been to Aruba a few times...once even over New Years weekend (amazing fireworks !! ) but have boycotted that island ever since Holloway disappeared.
IMO, many Caribbean islands that are even nicer than Aruba.
I'll be visiting Cuba, Belize & Honduras in two weeks.

What?? lol

What Island is better than Aruba?

SUNSCREEN!

Pre-tanning if you don't think it is too queer eye for the straight guy. You are so close to the equator that even with a nice tan and sun screen I got burned. The wind blows NON-STOP so you can't tell you are getting too much sun....until you get too much sun!

My wife and i went to Aruba for our honeymoon 17yrs ago. Its warm, its windy and the island was covered in wild goats when we were there. I fully agree with ReganR6. The most memerable dinner we had was at the lighthouse on the north shore. Beautiful location and i got a baby octopus soup that was not only delicious but grossed out all the tables around us. It is a little spicy and tomato based but the little octopus were fully intact and looked great on the end of a fork.
I would avoid the booze bus if its still running.

I’ve been married 17 years and went to Aruba for our honeymoon. The best part was renting a Jeep and driving all over the island. We were there 7/28/2001 for a week.

If you leave US soil and come up missing, it's the same as swimming in the ocean and getting attacked by a shark, it'll be your fault.

Wow, some of y’all are paranoid. We both keep situational awareness pretty well and though we are in our mid-twenties, aren’t the party goer/clubbing type. We have both grown up traveling to some not so great areas stateside and abroad so I’m not overly concerned.
We appreciate all the recommendations! Plenty of sunscreen is at the top of our packing list.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll look into the Italian restaurant in the lighthouse and renting a 4-wheeler. I've never been a huge fan of octopus, but it may be worth the order to gross out the "warden".
You're already referring to your wife to be as the warden? :boink:
