Anyone been to Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa in the past few years?

Out of those Toronto all day every day. Spent months and months in each of those places and Toronto is top followed by Montreal for me.

If given the choice I think the cities on the West Coast are best and fall the further east you move.

If Canada and Vancouver weren't so granola I would have moved there in a heartbeat.

Calgary is cool and dry as flying frick, constant nose bleeds for me while there.

If you like wine make your way to Kelowna.

Ottawa no thanks.

i go to canada at least once every two months for work and have been to pretty mcuh all of the major cities. on the east coast i'd only really recommend montreal. The people can be kinda of rude but the food is going to kill the other two easily. the architecture is also much better and much more interesting things to see and do. I honestly kind of hate Toronto as its jsut like new york city light and Ottawa is just kinda ok, nothing really bad but not enough to make me want to keep coming back.

Personal recommendation is ditch the east coast and head to the west coast. Calgary is my favorite city in canada, very nice, clean, one of the coolest libraries you'll ever see and everything is a little cheaper there. Just a ton to do there and then you can travel an hour west and hit Banff which is easily one of the most beautiful places on this earth, if you love nature and have never been it simply cant be topped.

Vancouver is also gorgeous city with tons to do around but can be a little pricy.
I'm glad you mentioned Vancouver. My wife went to Seattle for a conference several years ago and everyone from the left coast told her she needed to go to Vancouver while she was there. Unfortunately, she was very busy at the conference and couldn't go. When I mentioned it to her (along with Calgary) she got really excited about it.

Although Vancouver does seem more expensive, as you said, she's definitely wanting to go there instead of anywhere else in Canada. Now, she's wanting to go whale watching there too.

FIRST AND FOREMOST I don't want any political comments in this post. I'm not a fan of Trudeau for sure.

My wife and I are considering a 7-8 day trip to Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa. I would rather fly to Germany, but due to a couple medical conditions, I can't fly that far.

We went to a small Canadian/Maine border town, when we still lived in Maine about 11 years ago, and enjoyed the day trip, now we're looking at a longer visit in August.

If you've been to these cities, which one did you like best? We're definitely foodies. We like the architecture of older towns and I don't think Toronto has as much of that as the other 2 cities. I don't think we can comfortably visit all 3 cities in such a short trip though. Ottawa and Montreal are very close together, but it looks like the Blue Jays are on a 7 game home-stand against the Reds and Angels the week we're going. I think it'd be cool to see a MLB in Canada once in my lifetime.

We've been to Niagara Falls, on the US side, so we can skip that if we don't go to Toronto.

What say you?
Visited old Quebec City last fall. Nice downtown in the old city area.

Been to Toronto and Montreal.
I prefer Toronto....been to several Broadway plays there.
However Toronto does have a heavy Muslim population if that's an issue.

Love Vancouver !! We'll be in Seattle next weekend.....

Montreal has amazing food and beautiful parks. The people are nice. Don't bother attempting French even as a courtesy unless you can actually speak it well. It ends up being awkward and annoys people. They are perfectly fine with English.
