I print and load my own. Keeps costs pretty low per shell. Less than $3 each. Have a video of one short range and it’s a blast!

Well if you register it you can do a slew of things with it. Otherwise it’s pretty much flares/fireworks, smokes and wildlife control rounds (bangers). Registration allows all types of anti personnel ammo. The printer is not necessary but it does help make things cheaper if you know your way around CAD and computer type stuff. Chalk rounds are super fun. You can make solid rounds and fletchette etc. you have to read up on the explosive rounds - as anything over 1/4 oz of bang (lift and payload charges combined) is in of itself a destructive device and requires the round to be registered as well. Will try to link the video.link to video? always thought it would be fun to have one of these for giggles...
I assume once you have the launcher and a 3d printer you would have the basics. what else do you need? is there anything else you can (legally) shoot? like something for 4th of july?
