My youngest brother was an electrician and was working on a job at college campus in his early 20’s and decided to try college. He quickly was awarded scholarships right and left, including a Gates scholarship to Cambridge University in England. He got his masters and PhD there and never went back to the electrical trade.

Anyone go to grad school after their 20’s?

I’m trying to find a way back so I can get a Masters. I want to teach at UGA part time. Stupid me messed around a whole lot in my 20s. ‘Trust me Mrs. Admissions officer. I’m a much better student now than I was 25 years ago.”
My wife just started Grad school. She is tired of the corporate world.
I’ve got a few decades before that applies to me.

my advice: never close the door when you're in conference with a co-ed. never get TOO friendly with the students at all, but don't let that stop you from potentially making new friends. Just keep distance until they finish your class, then go have a beer with them. Do not have carnal relations with someone who is an active student in your class. Followup email EVERY conversation you have with students one on one with a summary of your conversation. You have to begin from a position assuming each undergrad is out to play you, get you, or use you. This is not personal, it's the game in academia now. I would also make it clear that you will not be conferencing with, speaking to, or dealing with parents. Each student is responsible for themselves in your class.
Wife went back in her 50's to get an advanced degree from GA State. It was rough on her; but she has reaped the rewards. We looked at the choices and her degree was worth a lot more than me getting a MBA.
Is the parent thing for real? Kids really try to get their parents involved? It’s a good thing this **** includes health insurance, I’m gonna need sedatives and blood pressure medication.
