It's true. I can see the hair fly off her. Get a roomba and run it once a day. You wouldn't know I had a dog if you didn't see the bowls in the kitchen.gentlemen, thanks for everyone's input, do they all really are heavy shedders? I've been reading that even if you just pet them casually they lose hair like crazy?
Have you considered an American Staffordshire Terrier? Great dogs!that's exactly the same story every other mastiff owner is telling, I did too
The athletes, in my view are dobermans, pitbulls, malinois, my rat terrier small, but when was younger was super athletic, very VERY confident, broad chest, easy to train and very much want to please but full of dignity, he wouldn't hesitate to stand up against anything , super agile, ran faster than any dog near its size.
In mastiff world all dogs are heavy, even if look muscular, they run out steam pretty fast. Mastino, corso, dog de baurdaux, St.Bernard etc. Probably corso is slightly better than other, and would assume that boerboul is even better, but it's kind of not much difference to speak of.
The american bulldogs look very well built and agile to me, and personality wise seems like what I like, and not excessively heavy , I'm talking about performance type. I'm sure everyone loves their dogs they all are awesome, it's just matter of preference. I may end up with another rat terrier, probably would go for a Decker as they are slightly bigger.
The are great dogs, unfortunately living in a city and dealing with building regulations, in most cases amstuff dogs are outright banned, it's on one hand, on another hand I don't wanna be an a..hole who makes neighbors uncomfortable, and amstaffs do cause that. I probably will go with German Pincher, or jagterrier, or Decker.Have you considered an American Staffordshire Terrier? Great dogs!

Also traveling with amstaf is difficult for the same reasons, and many places in Europe ban them outright on city or even country levels with huge fines and police involved.
very nice looking dogs, awesome!Check out https://lifelineanimal.org/
I fostered to adopt two dogs. Got one in 2018 & other 2022
Took each home, spent several days introducing the dogs to the home, cat & each other.
They were keepers. If you have a weekend or time, you can look online, or in person (several locations).
After a few days if there are any issues you can return the dog no obligations.
We attempted to get a 3rd but he had separation anxiety.
Any minor behavioral issues are typically remedied in a few weeks. Fostering to adopt is the way to go.
My two dont shed excessively. Probably shed an avg amount or less for a dog of their size. No allergies here.
Had to look those up, I got a mutt from lifelines Dekalb shelter maybe 4 months ago and looks just like the. I thought it was a beagle pit boxer mix. She's super sweet and a snuggler.Have you considered an American Staffordshire Terrier? Great dogs!
