I also have a friend looking to purchase a U.S. Government 1911. It must be in very good to excellent condition to display in his museum. It must be marked "Property of the U.S. Government."

Cash In Hand PM if you have one.

Are you looking for a U.S.G.I. Govt property stamped or one of the Colt WW 1 or 2 repros? Trader Ben has a couple or U.S. Property stamped 1911s although I have not seen them personally.

He wants one stamped US government property

I hadn't considered selling it as I have only sold one gun in my long and sorry life; a Wather PP with Nazi stamps. Got $55 for it.

This is a real DCM Colt 1911A1 straight out of WW II. Think I paid $5 for it in the early 60's. Rattle free and tight bushing. Don't shoot it as I have a couple excellent 45's. I would call the bore very good as it shows some wear but is certainly not shot out. Trigger, sights and barrel bushing have been replaced but I may have the originals somewhere. Pachmayr grips plus custom made walnut ones. Again, I may have the original plastic ones. It is stamped U.S Government Property.

Interested in what it is worth. Surprise me and I will sell it.

Also have an original military holster for it. I cannot remember if it came with the pistol or acquired about the same time.

Due to interest in this gun I posted it for sale here:
