Anyone have a well carried high end 1911?

Im starting to think i could use a high end 1911, but I cringe at the fact of scratching one up.

Anyone have a really tight, good shooting, well "loved" 1911 they may want to trade away?

Oh yes, i saw it. It is a very nice example. I would hate myself is i scratched it up and wore through the finish.

Im really hoping to find one where someone already marred the finish, so i dont have to worry about it.

I suppose it depends on what you call high end? Big price or damn fine weapon?

Im hoping for at least one of the semi custom guns, probably around the value of a new kimber. Ive seen a Baer on here for 1500, there is a variety of STI weapons that interest me.

Ive never had a 1911 thats been hand fit, a worked over trigger, and all the other touches of a non production line gun. The craftsmanship interests me.
I am more interested in a smooth, damn fine weapon, than a pretty, spotless, showpiece.
Did you have one in mind?

I have a Dan Wesson Pointman 7 that is a tried and true shooter with 230 gr. Speer Gold Dots. Flawless function, super trigger that I'm selling for $1300 firm.

That does look like a great weapon, ive just never cared much for stainless. I am sure someone will scoop it up soon.

I really do not get it almost all I hear from people with 1911's (I don't want to scratch it) like it is something special it is a piece of metal nothing more. If that's your concerned over it then why even buy it.
