Stainless 1911s rock. It's not because of how long the finish lasts or doesn't last. It's because stainless absorbs recoil. I'd say there's probably little to no difference in average first shot placement between aluminum frame 1911s and stainless. But every shot thereafter, I would bet my entire gun collection that stainless 1911s out perform aluminum with tighter groups at quicker times across the board with any level of skill. I have owned a dozen or so 1911s over the years. It's what I carry half the time when I carry. I've had a lot of range time with them in all sorts of configurations. NONE hold true and steady in rapid fire except stainless frames. I wouldn't trade my Stainless CBob for any 1911 ever made with an aluminum frame.
