wife's 08 fusion keeps eating that series auto zone batts. i might have heard about a bad series for this and other vehicles.
guy at "walmarts" said keep going back for new battery instead of buying new from him. 5 years warranty! about $130. up to fifth one and 3 years left. Possible design flaw? as there only a few manufacturers left. crazy to find short. car cannot be left w/o running for 2 days?! comments, complaints or advice requested. thanks, odt brothers. 8

Funny you mention that. I had a battery from them go out after just over 2 years about 6 mos ago. Luckily it was covered fully under warranty, but this one is prorated coverage.

do a comparison check on the cold cranking amps and the series of batteries... that ford may have a higher cold cranking amps and and the auto zone may a generic "close" equivelent

if the car cant be left for more than 2 days without it going dead it sounds like a parasitic draw on the electrical system. doesnt sound like a battery issue. east penn makes autozones batteries. you might to to call them to double check and make sure they didnt have a bad run. hope this helps!

Probably not the battery, you've got other issues. Dark current draw or flaky charging system or a combination of both.

Or you could just dump sea foam in the tank, cuz that fixes everything according to the internet.

Trunk or glovebox light, aftermarket radio misbehaving, bad BCM....

Youve got something sucking the battery down. Take the Neg terminal off the battery and put a test light between the post and the Neg lead. Start by pulling the power lead off the alternator and see if the light goes out. If not, make sure all your dome ligjts and accessories are off and start pulling fuses until you find the circuit that is draining it.

I agree that it sounds like a draw on your system. Get yourself a cheap Gauge from advanced or autozone or a multi-meter to plug up and see if there is a current draw even with the ignition off. Other option is to go ahead and eliminate all doubt and buy a battery quick disconnect and disconnect the battery when you know its going to sit, then see if you still have the same issue when you go to start the vehicle again. If it does start then you for sure have a short in a system somewhere that is draining the battery, its not an uncommon problem with fords

That being said I don't buy batteries from Advanced because I've had a number of them be bad right out of the box.
Never bought any batteries from Auto-zone. I order them online or get them from walmart now and only name brand. Its a very seldom purchase that can cause major headaches so I splurge and get the name brand batteries now

Work every time. When you pull a fuse and the test light goes out, you know which circuit is drawing your battery. Just make sure you use a 12 volt test light.
