Anyone keep reptiles?

How were the leopard geckos? I haven’t done much of any research yet but my kids are really into them.
Leopard geckos are great. Super docile. Buuuut most geckos aren’t great for young kids if you plan to handle them. They’ll drop their tails if grasped. Also nocturnal, so will mostly sleep during the day.

Bearded dragon is probably a better “handling” lizard for kids and diurnal, so more interring for the kiddies.

3 red-eared slider turtles. Started as hatchlings a couple years ago, how they're 8" long (shells). Great for kids. Can't kill the bastards.

My daughter and I had a turtle pond a few years ago. Had 9 or 10 red-eared sliders and yellow belly sliders.

I made a homemade filter using a Harper freight pump and a Home Depot bucket with filter material and charcoal media.

She had one turtle that would follow her around like a puppy inside the enclosure.

My wife has always been big into reptiles and odd pets. Currently have a pink toe tarantula, bearded dragon, and an albino Conda western hognose snake. All three are have simple set ups and very easy to care for After reading this thread to her, she now wants a Kenyan sand boa.

Leopard geckos are a great pet. Docile and friendly. Easy to care for. Simple set ups. The wife is getting one soon. Found a local breeder on morphmarket.
