Anyone own a variety store?

I know it has failed and the previous owner has basically given up.
the key to this is, take a critical look at the books, the environment, current and potential customers and only if it strikes you as an obvious fix to pull it into profitability should you attempt to do so, other vise you are likely to waist 4k

If it failed it probably wasn't just the owners fault. It's the demographics. What may be smarter is asking for a discounted price on all the goods in the store. Then auction off like eBay or something. You should easily gain a profit sitting at home. Just a little elbow grease in itemizing and storage and you should be good, anything that doesn't sell donate and get a some tax relief.

Turn it into an ammo store. Would you need any specific sort of license to only sell ammo? That could be a huge one provided you're able to stay stocked. :thumb:

Here is my Question?
your getting a turn key store for 4K
what going to be the utilities and rent cost monthly and will you be able to make payroll and Rent selling Dollar store items every month?

I'm sure that
Area and shopping center, rent should be around 3000- 7000 a month depending on sq feet and sight from the street.

I bought a retail store (bike shop) hitting on 1/2 its cylinders and the amount of effort it has taken me to grow my business has been unreal...the sacrifice my family and myself has had to make in this economy is been great.

Not to sound judgmental, but you sound a little nonchalant about doing this.....if you are not fully committed to making your business work you could just be burning 4 grand...with out a solid plan of attack and good knowledge of how the business was run previously, you'd be better off buying 3 WASRs off the ODT and 500 rounds to shoot up...at least you'd have the WASRs when the money ran out....

Best of luck regardless.
