It was the combination of GON and Duck Dynasty BUT Duck Dynasty is/was the main issue.

Not so much GON but when people tell others to go to certain lake you know people are going to show up. The people who tell others to go to a lake they think doesn't hold many birds or any don't help either.

I’m serious. Hunt in a few different states and you will see that it’s not just GA. It’s all over. I’m certain people in Mississippi, South Dakota, and Arkansas don’t read GON.

No i havent seen mountain park. I have seen my share of rude hunters on wmas in ga,and all surrounding states though. That guy at fifty yards is usually the one with the unruly house dog, and is learning to blow a call right then. The Arky public woods can be nuts, but very good. It was worse when the guides had it.

Arkansas hasnt been that great the last few years. Opening weekend is good for a limit of Spoonies, after that its been pretty tough. Now that they are doing the WMA drawings and you can only hunt each WMA one time a year, I'm seriously considering going to another state to duck hunt.

I havent heard this. Same with locals? I know a guy who hunts Bayou Meto exclusively. He may be looking for a lease. Hah

Only Non-residents. You can only hunt each WMA one time a year for 5 days. You have to buy the permit online. We used to hunt Dave Donaldson at least 30 days of the season. Hell we bought our house up there so we would be close to Dave Donaldson. It’s going to either drive the price of pits through the roof, or make us all stop going to Arkansas. It sounds like a good excuse for me to start spending my money somewhere else.

I'm heading out to Arkansas next week hunting 5 days.

I restored this old boat first I had to rebuild the transom with seacast. Then I built a metal engine plate. Then I put a twister xl mud motor kit on it so I could get into the shallow areas when we water gets down. It's by far not the fastest boat but it gets me where I need to be. Then I made a pvc layout blind which is light weight and lays down flat and easy to set up. Plus it cost less than $40 to build. I just hope the weather and the birds cooperate this year. And hopefully all of the people will stay away from my hole once the shooting starts unlike last year.
