i'm thinking of getting a suppressor for my AR. my question is, will a DI carbine length ar run reliably with a suppressor? or is it best to have a piston ar with adjustable gas system? anyone have experience with this?

My DI 11.5" sbr runs like a champ suppressed. Just gotta set it up right. Normally you'll want a little heavier buffer, a fa carrier and insure your gun is properly gassed ( ie a reputable brand barrel with the correct sized gas port ). A good quality DI gun will run 100% if properly set up.

Btw I'm running a liberty torch qa on a 11.5" bcm barrel, bcm fa bcg, and an h buffer. It has about 1500 rounds thru it. Everything from wolf to xm193 to TAP. Never a single malfunction suppressed or unsuppressed. Cleaned only a handful of times and run wet.

Definitely recommend the torch. Built like a tank, very quiet, and the mounting system is one of the best in my opinion. Very solid, easy to get off, butnnever backs off on me unintentionally.
