I'm no help on the 'bang for your buck' part, but I really like the Geissele SDC that I have in a carbine.

Best bank for your buck is probably the RRA NM trigger. Next, I also really like the CMC single stage drop in for about $150 shipped
Any experience with these? I've never thought much about triggers until I got to shooting this one and realized how hard it was to pull smoothly.
Also, thoughts on single vs 2 stage?
Just saw this for $125. I think it feels every bit as good as a Geissele-SSA-E.

Personally, I like a good single stage. If you are ever up on my side of town, you are welcomed to try both. Also have a Geissele SSA-E you could try out. The CMC is also a flat. I also prefer flat triggers.
