Ok I got a upper from a fellow ODTer and bought my lower from Georgia Gun Store and was messing around with the two and notice an extreme amount of wobble between the Upper and Lower, I know all parts are made differently and will work together differently but I need these two to work in order to build my Dad's Christmas present. Any advice will help.

The lower is a AR fifteen and the upper is a Colt A2 design, the wobble isn't side to side but more of and up and down motion. The pictures provided show the gap.

Please help.

Sorry if the gap is a bit hard to see.

I know it's because the hole in the Upper receiver is too big compared to the Lower receiver and the retaining pin but I'm looking for a good way to fix it without spending a lot of money.

You see air between upper and lower? Not good. How old is the upper? Not in mil-spec and other then replacement not much can be done... A little OK alot no way accuracy issues.

I'm not sure on the date of the upper and thats what the pictures are for I know its a bit hard but that white line is the Gap.

Also I want to keep the upper because I want to go for the 1960s Vietnam look, and than going to get it painted, plus i like the carrying handle.

I have been issued a couple of rifles in the past that were ridiculous at the amount of slop. Aggravating but they shot good.

Yeah its just my OCD kicking in, I want it to be solid so my Dad won't have any problems.

I have one of those ODT lowers with a Yankee Hill upper and there is absolutely no play in that.
