Are they that easy to steal?

I'm constantly seeing F250's being stolen (most recent below). How are they so easy to steal, and why is there such a demand for them?

Mexican cartel and easy to steal.

I saw an interesting documentary months back about cars stolen in the US. It shed a lot of light on Ford f150s and f250s , especially 90's ones for being very easy to steal. It also stated how in Texas, they are one of the most stolen (or were) vehicles because after being stolen they would be driven down to mexico where a turret could be mounted in the bed :)

They are so easy to get into they make a kit for the inside of the door to keep "the technique" used from working. I had a 2000 F250 and read all the time about them being stolen and taken to Mexico for running illegals through the dessert.

awhile back there was a theft ring in atlanta
targeting mercedes or some other high end

they would eyeball the owners VIN in a parking
lot then follow the car home

then have a key made at the dealer, come back
and get your car

Now you've got to show proof of ownership and have the car on site

Dunno about the new 150. But the older Yukon Tahoe suburban Silverado You could pop the door handle off with a screwdriver very easily in about two seconds
Reach in with the screwdriver and flip the rod to unlock and yank the handle again
Then you could hit the handle with your Palm and pop it right back in
Just left a scratch in the paint from the screwdriver
