Armored possums need to die. Tips?

There were a pair walking around this morning right after I got into the stand. Things sounded like they were huge until I found them on a thermal monocular to identify them. Might be some fun NV hunting them later in the season.

here's #20 from last week shot in my front yard, they usually show up after midnight
I set 2 harbor freight driveway alerts in the yard on coffee cans and I'm quick to jump out of bed
they showed up last year in Northeast Bartow

my front yard looks like a UH-1 flew over and the door gunner opened up, there are pock marks everywhere
I was gifted 100 rounds of 1-1/2oz lead #4's, and they do the job

We had a yellow lab mutt dog that I found by the road as a puppy for close to 10 years. That dog mastered, absolutely mastered, the art of flipping an armadillo and killing it quick. He would sneak up on it not barking once and kill them just to go about his business. He turned a deer track into a coyote killing one morning when two coyotes tried to take the deer he had tracked for us. He killed one and was working on the other when I got to them and shot the 2nd one. I say all that to say I miss that dog.

I routinely kill armadillos in the yard with a ruger 10/22 suppressed with a red dot and a surefire. Or a thermal 223 also suppressed makes a mess of them.

Tore my yard up bad for two years. I got 5 traps now set nearly year round. Caught 35 in the last two years. After i started catching them my yard is pretty well back to normal. Fyi if you use traps like have a heart cover floor with sheet metal or they can grab wire bottom and push till they bend the door and rods that keep it shut and get away
