very creative, I'll bet it'd work alright in a pinch!
It's been done in real life before, there are some maglight form 1 cans, but without a nice baffle system in it it will only quiet a 22 in all likelihood.
If you were legally able to build a suppressor it would be simple to get some off the shelf k baffles machined to fit in the body that would likely do the trick quite nicely.

Where are you getting off the shelf K baffles? I'm just going to assume he's using washers or pressed m baffels.
